Creed - ence

One of the hardest things in life for me to do is go through the days when it seems that absolutely nothing is happening. You know the days. You feel numb. Time may fly or it may creep. Perfectly healthy, plenty of friends, a pretty nice job, roof over your head, and plenty to eat...just nothing flowing out of the heart. Today is one of those days for some reason. I feel completely uninspired.

Some of the best reading that I have ever picked up is Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest. I have found that I can pick up that book and read the devotional for whatever the date is and I find some very real and practical Truth. Today was about serving God in what seems to be the mundane. "If we do not do the running steadily in the little ways, we shall do nothing in the crisis." Isn't it true?

Tomorrow will probably be completely different. Something may go completely wrong and my heart may sink. Or something could happen that lifts me up or draws my heart into deep times of inspiration. Today is just one of those days - a day to choose Jesus, even when nothing is happening.

a day to take one more step up that hill..and before we know it we're sledding down and then walking up again. funny, when its snow and a piece of plastic its called fun but when its heavy emotion and lack of inspiration its called the dark night...
